This series of cars was built as combination door cars for UP in 1964, then rebuilt as double plug doors by UP in 1977~1978. Then went to Willamette Industries in 1990. Willamette Industries bought the Penntech Papers Inc paper mill in Johnsonburg, PA in 1990, and built a paper converting plant at Dubois, PA. Both plants are on the Buffalo & Pittsburgh RR. The small fleet of boxcars was bought take paper from the paper mill to the converting plant. After Weyerhaeuser acquired WI through a hostile takeover in 2002, it sold the paper mill and converting plant to Domtar in 2007.
